What should I expect: admission day?

On admission day you are met at the door by an admissions coordinator, complete a medical evaluation with our nursing team, meet your therapist, and settle into your room. Most clients are through intake and into their first meal within three hours. Family can stay through the paperwork and say goodbye before the clinical portion begins.

Key takeaways

  • Phone policies vary by level of care. Inpatient clients typically have scheduled phone time after the first few days.
  • Yes. Each location has scheduled visitation and family therapy sessions.
  • That is expected. Do not attempt to detox on your own before arrival.

Arrival

An admissions coordinator meets you, walks you through consent forms, and reviews your rights and the program schedule. Belongings are inventoried and secured.

Medical evaluation

A nurse takes vitals and a full history. A physician or nurse practitioner sees you the same day to begin any detox protocol and review medications.

Psychiatric evaluation

Within 24 to 72 hours, depending on level of care. This is where co-occurring conditions are identified and a medication plan starts.

Your first day

Meet your primary therapist and case manager, tour the facility, and join the community for meals and evening group. Your written treatment plan is reviewed with you within 72 hours.

What to bring

A week of comfortable clothing, ID and insurance card, medications in original bottles, and any legal or work paperwork. A full list is sent after scheduling.
